Funk Guitar Basics will teach you some go-to funk moves on the guitar allowing you to "play in the pocket" and have a very solid sense of timing. It will cover basic single-note line riffs, major and minor triads, as well as a variety of chord voicings used for the dominant 7th, which is the foundation for many funk grooves.
You will learn through the fantastic music of James Brown, Earth, Wind, & Fire, Kool and the Gang, Prince, Stevie Wonder, and many other residents of Funkytown. For funkmasters who have completed Guitar for Advanced Beginners or are otherwise familiar with open and barre chords, and are comfortable with various strumming patterns.
