Elysa Hochman
Elysa is a performer and instructor of Spanish, flamenco and classical guitar. At NYC Guitar School Elysa teaches flamenco guitar group classes and private lessons. She is familiar with the traditional, modern and fusion flamenco guitar techniques and styles. Elysa continues to follow the growth of flamenco guitar as it continues to develop and expand in many different ways throughout the world. She may customize your studies, as she teaches through the traditional styles of Nino Ricardo and Paco Pena, the modern styles of Juan Serrano and Gypsy Kings, and different fusions styles such as Jesse Cook and the new young duo, Rodrigo y Gabriela. Elysa is a very focused and well-respected instructor. She has a great amount of patience with her students and a genuine love for teaching.

Elysa has a Masters degree in Music and Music Education from Columbia University, Teachers College. She studied flamenco guitar in Spain under Jose Luis Balao of Jerez de la Frontera, Santiago Moreno of Jerez de la Frontera, Antonio “El Chonico” Heredia of Granada and Jorge Sanchez of Almeria.
