Matt Williamson
Matt Williamson comes to NYC Guitar School from Alabama. As a child, every year he asked his parents for an electric guitar. After four years they gave in to what they assumed was a passing fancy. Within a year, Matt had formed a band and was playing in front of the school, in talents shows, etc. as he mastered rock guitar. He went on to get a degree in Music from the University of Montevallo, south of Birmingham, AL, where he intensely studied classical guitar technique, theory, ear training…and then jazz. He not only learned guitar, but taught thousands of guitar lessons for the community school of music and The Guitar Gallery in Pelham, Alabama. Now, a year after graduating from college, he has joined us in NYC in order to intensify and further his guitar experience. We are excited about landing him as a teacher and we know our students will benefit from his immense commitment to his craft.
