Michael Cioffero
Michael Cioffero has a Masters Degree in Classical Guitar Performance and has studied Flamenco guitar at Taller Flamenco Escuela de Flamenco in Sevilla, Espana. He has taught classical and electric guitar for 12 years. In addition, Michael is a registered Suzuki classical guitar instructor with the Suzuki Association of the Americas. He performs and teaches many styles on guitar such as classical, flamenco, rock, blues, and jazz. Several of his students have gone on to study at major music conservatories, such as the Manhattan School of Music, San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Northwestern University, while many others have formed their own bands.
Michael was one of 12 guitarists chosen nationwide to perform at the 21st Annual Christopher Parkening Master Classes in Bozeman, Montana. Parkening is the most renowned student of the famous Spanish guitarist Andres Segovia. Michael was also selected to be a performer/student at the 10th Annual International Guitar Festival in Denver, Colorado. In addition, as guitarist of the group Grasshopper Takeover (2003-04), Michael was written up in Rolling Stone magazine, publicized on VH1, and performed throughout the United States.
Michael studied with some of the most respected names in
the classical guitar world including Benjamin Verdery, William Kanengiser, Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, Adam Holzman, Ricardo Iznaola, David Brandon, Javier Calderon, Juan Mercadal, John Sutherland, Jonathan Leathwood, Marc Regnier, Hadley Heavin, Pedro Ruiz de Luna, cellist Dr. David Low, Flamenco guitarists Miguel Rodriguez and Michele Iaccarino, and has performed Flamenco guitar for over ten years.
