Slide Guitar Basics

Limited to six students. Ten weekly one-hour sessions. $319.00

Have you ever been captivated by the lyrical and expressive sound of the Slide Guitar?
Here's your chance to learn some of the secrets of this timeless style. Whether you're a singer-songwriter wanting to add a twangy/bluesy dimension to your sound, or an electric lead player looking for a new way to make your guitar sing and sting, this is the class for you. We start slowly with basic techniques, then proceed through a history of the genre from the acoustic delta blues of Robert Johnson, through the early electric sound of Elmore James, to the lead guitar approach of Duane Allman. Students should be comfortable with open and barre chords, and basic fingerpicking technique. Guitars and slides available for use in the classroom.
