Ethan Sipe is a guitarist, violinist, mandolinist and Singer Songwriter who currently lives in Manhattan. Ethan started music lessons at a young age, first starting with violin at age 6, followed and accompanied by guitar lessons starting at age 10. Ethan is currently in a pop/folk band called the EJJ (pronounced “edge”) with his twin brother Jeremy Sipe and his cousin Jacob Friedmann. Ethan attends college at the City College of New York.
Ethan also plays music in the MTA subway. He claims that playing on the train and platforms are a good way to overcome performance anxiety and learn how to read audiences. Ethan often plays his own songs while he is playing in the Subway to see how they can be improved.
As a violinist, Ethan has performed with well known classical musicians such as Gerald Robins, and Amit Peled in venues that range from senior homes to Carnagie hall.
Ethan values the idea that the discipline learned from practicing an instrument is a useful tool for having a healthy lifestyle. Ethan insists that learning violin has helped him develop a solid practice ethic.
