Our mission is Coaching Personal Greatness One Lesson At A Time. One way we do that is through through our summer internship program for Rising Senior campers and post-high school former campers, which provide focused and hardworking young musicians the opportunity to deepen their musical skills and identity while gaining real world experience in a fast paced and high quality work environment.
Post High-School Internships: The NYC Guitar School Summer Rock Camp runs a paid internship program for former campers who have graduated from high school. This internship promotes leadership and gives students real world experience working in the music industry. Our camp has many outstanding veteran students who have attended our camp for multiple summers, completed the internship program and have gone on to study music and non-music related majors in college. The interns help run the daily operations of the camp, guide families during orientation, coach younger students and run backstage operations during the final showcases. It is a serious job and we select students who display maturity, a willingness to work hard, reliability and a dedication to the mission of the camp, which is supporting the musical development and personal greatness of the younger campers. Applicants should be available to work all 3 sessions. There are two internships available in 2019.
Rising Senior Internships: This program gives current older campers the opportunity to gain valuable work experience as interns for one 2-week session and to support and contribute to the development of younger campers. In addition, these interns get a $400 tuition scholarship which can be applied in another session of the camp. The student must be a continuing camper who will enter their senior year of high school next Fall. There are a total of six internships available in 2019, two for each camp session.
To apply for either program, students should email Summer Camp Director Jen Elliott at email@example.com directly with a resume and cover letter explaining their reasons for applying and how they will contribute to the school’s mission of Coaching Personal Greatness through the medium of music. Please include musical skills. Students must apply by themselves, not through a parent or guardian. We receive many applications every year for limited positions so please apply by May 5th to be considered.
